Mark & Pat - London, SW19 - 7th to 14th August 2025
Our first visit to Shetland and we have thoroughly enjoyed every day. The weather has been kind – yes, we had rain, fog, sunshine, wind (and what wind it was) but that didn’t stop us going out exploring.
Our best day was driving all the way to Skaw on Unst. Top tip – book the ferries and take the Thermos flask and tea making kit. One drawback of a low population is that there are few café’s and some are not open every day, or for long hours.
St Ninian’s Isle was glorious, Jarlsof was interesting and we enjoyed our experience of the Cunningsburgh Show – we even saw a traffic jam!
We hope this will not be our one and only visit to the Shetland Islands. We still have a few Islands to cross off our list.
