Very much enjoyed a wonderful stay here accompanied by a wonderful view and a peaceful and luxurious interior. Definitely worth the travel from London to the magical Shetland Islands!

Our second visit to Holsas. Just as wonderful as seven years ago! Thank you both!
Chris, Harriet & Hilary – Manchester & Sheffield – 3rd to 14th June 2023
Lovely & quiet cottage with friendly hosts. Everything well equipped.
Recommendations for things to do:
Jarlshof & Old Scatness for iron age, bronzeage & norse remains. Jarshof is amazing! They have a full iron age house minus the roof. If time, go up to Unst & the replica Longhouse & Viking boat.
Wildlife – Noss boat tour is great. Ian Towriess for otter guiding on Yell. Also the Mousa boat for Storm Petrels.
Scenery – Eshaness is amazing as is the scenery at Hermaness.
Food – Fjara is good, plus the beef from the Farm Shop is really good.
Recycling – glass recycling in Tesco, Lerwick car park (or outside Bigton Shop) at the far end from the shop & soft plastics recycling in the Tescos.
A great holiday & lovely place to stay.
Sue & John Stephenson – Northampton – 28th May to 3rd June 2023
A wonderful, peaceful stay in Holsas. Everything provided and a really comfy bed!
We enjoyed re-discovering South Mainland, visiting our favourite bird watching sites, including a lovely sunny day on Noss. We even saw Curlew & Golden Plover from the window of the Lodge.
Would recommend Fjara (near Tesco’s) for an evening meal and also had a superb meal at the Dowry at Hay’s Dock (Museum). The Museum is one of the most interesting we’ve been to.
We are heading onto Tresta & Unst now but will miss this comfortable lodge!
Suzanne & Stuart – 12th to 17th May 2023
Lovely time in Shetland. Made it to see the Puffins and got to Island hop.
This place has everything you need and a few touches for things you didn’t realise you needed – like picnic bags for days out & a shopping bag for the shop run.
Quite disabled friendly with lots of space to move a wheelchair around in, parking outside & the ramp to come in.
Luckily we were blessed with good weather, only 1 wet day.
Thanks

Well where do I start! What a fantastic time we had staying in Holsas Lodge. Absolutely everything we needed. Highly recommend it. Came when the snow was on the ground but that didn’t stop us from getting around. Having Mackenzie’s Shop & Cafe nearby is brilliant. Really enjoyed our stay. Hope to get to stay here again.
Thank you so so much.
